I did indeed have a parasite, from the coffee, no less. My dr said it was odd that the parasite survived the brewing process but that it can happen ( old coffee maker that didn't get that hot ), and that Kenya does have a problem with parasites and the coffee plants. I was soo grossed out , but I took the medicine and things cleared up quickly.

I had many ultrasounds as a kid, I've had the same problems my whole life, same as my kids. I can't think of a time when one of them hasn't been complaining of a tummy ache or soreness, it's like a daily thing My dr checked my kids over, couldn't find a thing except low iron with my daughter. I go in for iron shots as well, I also get low in vit k and d from time to time. My kids also all fall in or below the fifth percentile growth wise even tho the eat alot and quite well. It's like they are not absorbing anything.

I haven't had my gallblader checked, or hormones levels, and the kids have not been checked for parasites, but pretty much every other lab test you can think of. I've had barium enimas, colonoscopies (did find abnormal cells), x-rays of joints, and on and on. I'm quite sick of being proded and poked at. I could ask that he checked those things as well, it's worth a shot.

Thanks for all your advice and input guys, I appreciate it, I know this isn't exactly bipolar related. It just isn't helping the moods much.
What a mess! ((((Anika))))

Have you looked at the "Paleo Diet" guidelines and given that a try? It has a lot of similar restrictions as you've mentioned trying, but may be the combo would be better.

Wish I knew of something that would help - it sounds so miserable, and you and your family certainly don't deserve any more challenges than you already have!
