LD the most important thing is that you are working toward solutions. Getting a tutor is a good idea as was having a meeting with a career counselor.

I am sorry you did poorly in this class for midterm, but the term ain't over until the fat lady sings! But the most important thing though is not the disappointments we have in life, but how we face them and what we do about them. The temprorary problem in class speaks of your ability with this one subject and this particular course (and I am still confident you will end up doing well with this) but your perseverance and willingness to find new ways to succeed about it speak volumes about your character and personality. Most notible is that you are not giving up. There are occasionally good reasons to "give up", drop a course, change courses, etc... maybe someone realizes that it is not for them or the timing isn't right. But one shouldn't get discouraged to the point of dropping just because of a bad grade if that is something that still interests them and they feel is worth fighting for. And your posts have the mark of that "fighter" all over them, just in that while you are disappointed, you always have ideas and are taking steps to improve the situation.

Proactive.

Of course this course is important to you, but the root of who you is more important, and the balance and effort and positive attitude you put into these things will make you successful by definition in whatever you pursue in life.

Take this time to regroup, enjoy the other things going on in your life, and keep working at it, you will do well. Like everything else in life, it is the journey that is important, and your experiences in these classes are as important as the knowledge you come away with.

Good luck!
