I Relied on those around me for so long that I have no independence and feel like I cant make it on my own.
Hi 5am
I honestly believe that when someone is taken care of very extensively, they can get what I would call "learned helplessness". If you have never ironed your own clothes, then you don't know how and need practice. If you had others lay out your clothes for your going out (school, whatever) then you don't know how to pick and match your clothes. You might not fit in this at all.

If you feel there is a learning disability, the first person you likely should ask is your mother, that is if she can be honest and open with you. Sometimes Moms baby the baby in the household...and it might even be as simple as that.

How were your grades in school? Any problems there? If you did fair/good there, then you obviously don't have a learning disability. You may also be overly intimated by your brothers success and fear you can't live up to the bar he set.

Lastly, where did you take these tests you speak of? Done by a professional or something on line? I would see a professional if possible if you continue to worry about this. good luck to you. hugs, bj
