In the past, I have admitted to my friends that I self-injure. It took a long time for me to open up about it to friends I've had for years. My concern now is revealing it to new friends, and potential intimate partners. Most of my scars are on my legs, so they're easily concealed through out the day and the majority of people don't know I have a problem. It's been about 16 months or so since I last relapsed, and the scars are faded, but definitely still noticeable. It's been so long since I've told someone about my SI issues, that I don't remember what I said, and how I said it. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to bring up a topic like this to a potential intimate partner? I want to be honest without scaring him away It was easy to reveal to my ex-bf because he also self-injured, so I'm at a loss as to what to say to someone who doesn't SI :\
