Depression Central sure has changed!! WOW!! This is great! My name is Jerry and I've battled major depression for 14 years. I'm in the "treatment-resistant" category. Like many of you - I've been on almost every antidepressant & med cocktail out there plus ECT and I was a study participant in the Vegal Nerve Stimulator clinical study (http://www.vnstherapy.com/depression/main.asp). Unfortunately it didn't workout for me - and after 2 years I elected to have it removed.

Currently I'm on a good cocktail which includes some very off-off-off-lable meds (an opiate) prescribed by my psychiatrist. I've also recent found magnesium taurate to be a "miracle" supplement for my depression & anxiety. Don't get me wrong- I'm not in full remission and I certainly still have my bad days - but things are generally better now than they have been in the past.

I'm back in school working twoards my doctorate in pharmacy. I've already got a BA in Music Performance - but I've always found biochemistry fascinating!
