Hi ~ You know, you did what you HAD to do to support your son and yourself! The people you know/knew have NEVER been in that position -- have never had to resort to those jobs in order to put food on the table. Those are legitimate jobs -- you did NOT work the streets, for Pete's sake! You COULD have stayed home and collected welfare, but you chose not to, which is very admirable!  Then you wanted to improve your lot in life by going to school, and that TOO is very admirable! So those people are just ignorant fools. Their opinion isn't even worth thinking about.  If they were ANY kind of friend at all, they would have supported you and given you kudos for all that you were doing!
Find yourself a better set of friends --- people who aren't SNOBS! God bless and please take care of yourself. And you've done good! Hugs, Lee
