Due to needing to keep my Medical Assistance (state insurance in PA) I've had to fill out soooo much paperwork. Now they're making me apply for SSI/SSDI. I applied last fall (before being told I had to) and was denied but my only dx was through my GP and it was chronic depression (on anti d's for over 10 years). And the denial paper said I was denied b/c 'everyone gets depressed somethimes', sigh.
Now that I've been under pdoc care and seeing a therapist my dx is Bipoar II. although my T says Bipolar and Broderline. So I've 'proven' I need Therapy and meds (info they need to keep my insurance). I haven't worked since Nov. 2010 due to many episodes but also have never been hospitalized. What are my chances at SSDI/SSI now? Blah, I hate this..
On a side note I've also had to apply for SSI for my 13 yr old son who has been dx with Aspergers PDD-NOS. what are my chances there? I know I'll be able to keep his state insurance as he's under 18 and I'm a single mother with no income and I have this insurance for his younger sister and brother. But what about his SSI?
