Depression includes an element of anger, imo. It isn't a bad thing to allow others to be and stay quiet, but turning that response into yourself rather than working through it, might not be such a good solution.
What of others and their words? Isn't it up to our own selves to take what is good and leave the rest? I can't control the world (nor would I want to) but realizing that it's up to me, it is my choice, as to whether a situation really affects me or not... usually.
