I've had a hysterectomy, but I remember when I DID have periods, I was very calm -- wasn't emotional or crabby at all. My periods were TERRIBLY hard tho -- I felt like I was bleeding to death!  Became anemic too -- that's why the hysterectomy (tumors ).
Good thing I DIDN'T get emotional, or I probably would have killed someone. LOL
