Good you're going to the doctor depressedgirl. I was extremely nervous with my 1st PAP smear but now I'm good. I have my female family doctor do it now and that's makes me more comfortable. Try not to worry - its not painful and to doctors, this is just another body part. The doctor should guide you through every step. They do a breast exam first and they also feel your stomach.
Have you have an irregular period before and do you mind me asking your age? Make sure you get on a reliable birth control method and use condoms until you've been on it long enough. The 'pull out method' isn't reliable at all, because a little semen can't come out before orgasm. You should also know if you're taking birth control pills - some antibiotics can make the pills ineffective. Good luck with your appt.
