Unfortunately......that was the attitude my mother had when she ignore a "women stuff" thing at the age of 79.....& it ended up being stage 4 cancer which KILLED HER because she didn't bother taking care of it until it was too late.
I can say that it's definitely important to take care of something when it shows up......I can definitely say that the regret in the long run from ignoring it is much greater than the embarrassment of taking care of something when it's able to be treated.
Sadly, my mother's oncologist (who I didn't like in the first place & thought of him as an arrogant chauvinist) thought of her as an "OLD FOOL" because of how irresponsibly he saw her handle herself......not exactly how I want to be seen by others....whether old or not.
I know that some things are missed because there were no signs. The problem is that those things usually have symptoms that can be caught early by having the yearly checkups, but to ignore signs when they exist is NOT WISE.
BrokenCloud, I can only hope that you would take care of yourself when if it ever comes right down to the necessity.
