Depending on where you live, often a boss will want an employee to quit so they cannot collect unemployment. It sounds like he is so cheap that he wants you to quit. Try not to give him any more of your private life so he can critisize you about it.

Your boss may be an unhappy person himself, not happy with his job either and takes it out on others.

Sorry you have to deal with his issues. Do your best, try to not give him anything else to pick on and look around for another job if you can.
