When I'm upset about something, I first try to change something about the situation, whether it be some action I can take to change it, or change my attitude about the situation. If there's nothing I can do to change it, then I have to accept that I'm powerless over the situation, and wait for it to go away. Sometimes patience and acceptance are the only things that work. I can clean, bike ride, run, write, have sex, read, watch tv, chat online etc etc all I want, but then when I'm done with the distractions, the problem is usually still there. So I tend to try and fix the problem, and if I can't, I try to accept the problem. Easier said then done, but when I resolve to not let something make me miserable, it tends to get easier. =)
