You'll find what works for you. First year, I pulled a lot of all nighters, but always said no to a party if it was 2 or less days till an essay, or assignment that was due, and I'd never drink the night before an 830 class!

Also, if the library doesn't do it for you, abandoned classrooms, or odd places on campus are always good. Or the local pub, or coffee shop, either on or off campus.
