My brother-in-law of 27 years has some kind of problem I don’t know what it is. However, my sister is fed up with it and is going to divorce him. I’m afraid that he could turn violent. He has never expressed any physical violence, but does have some kind of rage problem.
He has never successfully held a job in the 27 years of their marriage: he is always fired/laid off due to personality problems. I think he has Asperger’s Syndromes except for one thing. He has these “fits” or “rants”. For example: I have heard him (and seen him) on several occasions, pacing around, gesticulating, and cursing and ranting in a loud whisper in the next room, or out loud in the shower where he thinks he can’t be over heard. The parts I heard sound like “ G-d damn,….pisses me off, who do they think…XXXX” etc. My husband finally got to hear one of BIL’s rants, and was thoroughly creeped out.

BIL does not know how to reciprocate in conversation, is clumsy, doesn’t “see” things, and has horrible social manners— in addition to being extremely intelligent and well-read and knowledgeable in many subjects. He is ABD because of his obnoxious personality problems.

What could possibly be going on with this guy? Rage-aholic AND Asperger’s?????
I am stumped.

Any advice appreciated.
