My best friend is obsessed with a girl hundreds of miles away that he has never met. She is engaged to someone else but yet she and my best friend act like they are together. My other friends and I try to tell him what really is going on and what needs to happen to make it end but he won't listen. The girl he is obsessed with is constantly hurting him to the point of suicide attempts, but yet he still doesn't want to let her go and move on. I, as his friend, am scared to death that he will try an attempt and I won't be around to stop him. My friends and I have tried several different routes to deal with this, but I'm still stumped. Do any of you have any advice as to how I can stop this obsession of his before it kills him?
