It has been astounding how long Lipitor as been branded but it is due to the company being bought out, changing hands, and transfer of the patents to extend it. Annoying to say the least. However, it is now available in a generic: Atorvastatin Calcium. Check with your pharmacy or call around. I especially remember when Walmart announced it would be carrying it. Perhaps this will help for costs but I don't know how much it is though, hopefully much less.
