Thanks bebop.
I know. rap was just saying what was on tv. I was not posting against rap. I was posting because I know the damages that the mass media can do in claiming this or that cures things and so I was posting what I know about cancer first hand.
the mass media can basically get away with saying anything they want in regards to healthy eating habits.
They can claim it helps any physical and mental disorder because basically eating healthy does one thing - it keeps the vitamins, minerals and blood counts on track which helps the immune system.
bottom line is people feel better no matter what their problem is if they are eating healthy.
But on the other end of the coin healthy eating habits does not prevent 100 % a person from getting a desease and so on.
When I first found out I had cancer I went wild with making sure I did this right and that right and bla bla bla right down to listening to these mass media people saying this works and that works.
I had thought well if I had only done this right or that right back then I would never have gotten cancer.. for every mass media idea out there I had - I should of's and if I had only...
Not a good place to be so I wanted to post what I did so that others will know that yea all these things you hear about have a small chance of helping but when it comes to cancer no matter what a person does there is always a chance of getting cancer because alot are from bacterial and alot are hereditary.
So I think its better to stay firmly grounded in the reality of using common sense when hearing about all of these magic cures and helpful hints made by the mass media and just continue following what the family physician feels is best for that individual person.
Some cancers can be cured by the use of chemotherapy, radiation and surgery, but others cant be. Eating healthy just makes sure your blood counts are where they should be regardless of chances of getting cancer.
In fact when I was diagnosed with cancer I was on a healthy eating plan my family physician and gastroenterologist told me to eat all kinds of things that would make me gain weigh including fat because when a person goes through chemo they lose weight big time because of the nausia side effects of treatment.
I was told to eat ice cream, brownies, cakes spegetti you name it I was told to shovel the food down as much as I could because I had to gain 20 pounds before cancer treatment. Let me tell you I can walk into Mcdonalds across the street now and just look at the menu and the cashier has my meal already pushed into their register thing. Subways I don't even have to say no cucumber but double everything else on a foot long if one specific person is on duty. I had to taco bell it to the max,
Its really funny before having cancer a person is told eat healthy.
When a person get diagnosed with cancer they are told I don't care what you eat JUST GAIN ABOUT 20-23 pounds before we do treatment.
After cancer the person spends a year with their treatment professionals trying to get the right combination and intake of food that will keep the blood counts where they should be and still gain weight that treatment took away
and then after the person reaches their idea chart weight again they spend another year reregulating that diet plan so that their blood counts stay up but they are neither losing weight nor gaining weight.
