I have a sunspot on the cheek of my face, it was darker pigmented then the rest of my skin, and flat, it has been there for about a year. I woke up and it had changed, it is red, dry, scaley, raised and is tender.

I am going to go to my gp and get it looked at hopefully on Monday, if I can get in that soon. But now I am obviously worried, and it is sort of itchy, I don't want to scratch at it. Hopefully it's nothing, I don't know I am kinda freaking out here.

Has anyone had something like this happen with sunspots? I tried looking at skin cancer sites, but that freaked me out more, and I started to examine every single mole on my body, and that is a lot.

Will a gp even know, should they send you to a dermatologist?
