Hi iseepurple. That's a bit of a tough one, it really depends on what kind of relationship you have with the person. I'm sorta going through that in my own way so what I said to my friends was, "Sorry, I don't hang out as much as I used to. I'm going through a pretty tough time at the moment so I'm not really hanging out with anyone much. I'm just trying to get through this thing and get back on my feet. I hope you'll understand. When everything is resolved, I'll totally hang out with you then when I have more time."
