I think that it is safe to say that people differ in their psychosis or psychotic episodes. I didn't like taking the medicine but that was 30 years ago and I hear that the newer meds don't have as bad of side effects. I definitely don't want to talk anyone out of not taking their medications if it is working for them.
I had a doctor tell me that I might not have any more psychotic episodes again if I took the medicine for 2 or 3 years straight. I didn't take his advice though. During my last episode I sort of fell into a relationship with this young lady. Within 5 or 6 days of her moving in with me my delusions and paranoia subsided. The doctor that I was working with had a hard time believing that I got that better that fast without taking any drugs. That was the last episode that I had for 20 years. Like I stated before people are different. I had a definite sexual element connected with my psychosis.
