schizophrenics can hear voices in their heads too. medication is usually the first treatment option whether you have DID, schizophrenia, depression or any other mental disorder. the symptoms of dissociative disorders are shared by just about every mental disorder out there. medication is one way to narrow things down quickly, so that the person gets treatment right away.
both dissociative disorders and schizophrenia can have an hereditary factor. Which is why most treatment providers do a family history when they find out their clients are hearing voices.
Both dissociative Identity Disorder and schizophrenia share the symptom of having what the person perceives as beings similar to alternate personalities, alter egos, precursory alters...
Im glad you will be seeing your psychiatrist (PDoc) they can help you to get diagnostic evaluation done so that you will know once and for all what these beings inside you are and whats the best treatment for you all.
the student teacher.. well not much you can do about her.. you have two options continue with her and then when she's gone get another therapist or tell her you dont think shes the right fit for you and be assigned to another therapist. hopefully your next therapist will be a better fit for you.
