Last month, I switched dentists because of being overcharged.
This week, I just got rejected by my new dentist yesterday because I had gone over his head, so he says, and seen an endodontist for 2 root canals. I had the right to do that, according to my plan.
But he told me he had the right to refuse to restore teeth that "did not need root canals".
So, I am stuck with no restorations until *maybe* in March. My new provider (that my insurance transferred me to does not go into effect until the first and then I can't be seen by them until the 5th. I am also afraid that they might have the same attitude as the other one.
I am scared that I will have problems before then. Contamination of rc's or cracks from breakage, I told them.
I wish there were more laws protecting patients from doctor's attitudes.
I am not noncompliant, in fact, I remember the rejecting dentist telling me that I should see my endodontist if I have problems. Now he turns around and tells me that since I had root canals, he won't treat me. I hate mixed messages and people going back on things!
I have put a review on them on Yelp. Pm me if you want to see it.
