I wouldn't let the schizophrenia dx scare you. The earlier they find out the easier it is to treat. For the most part schizophrenics aren't normally violent towards others. Psychosis typically makes someone more likely to withdraw from everyone else and hurt themselves than other people. Remember the diagnosis is only a label to help the doctors treat you. It doesn't defined you. You are also not your mother. You are your own person. Only reason docs like to go on family history is because mental illness likes to run in the family and it's more likely what worked for a parent/sibling might work for you.
