A rapid change could VERY well be a sign of infection, don't discount this so easily. Give the polysporin time to work and it does wonders with skin infections. You will know soon enough if it will affect it to know whether a biopsy is in order. Take it a moment at a time and deal with that IF and when it comes, as it may not. Could very well simply be an infection.
