Hey guys,
God I am so angry. My Sister works as a receptionist in our local University. Today she met me for lunch. When she went back to work she walked in on a huge arguement. Here is the story.....
There is a girl in her 2nd year at the uni, she has depression. She came in to talk to her "tutor" as her "tutor" hasn't been answering her emails. This girl has been trying to get in contact with her "tutor" for over 2 weeks. Anyways the girl was speaking to another member of staff who actually deals with students and especially students with disabilities/disorders. This member of staff if I can call her that started shouting at the girl. The girl was raped when she was 15 years old and the trial is starting in the next few weeks.... the girl is around 20 years old. The court case is clashing with her exams and she really obviously despreately needed to talk to someone who she thought could help her. This woman starts shouting at her saying how she shouldn't have to deal with this girls problems as her Husband has cancer and she is stressed out. So what, it's not the girl's fault. Then and this is the worst bit....... she turns to the distraught girl and said she was scared to be in the same room as the girl, as she doersn't know what the girl might do. The girl is sobbing her heart out and no-one knew what to do. The best solution that my Sister's work has done was send her home in a taxi. This distraught girl is close to the edge of brink and they send her home alone in a taxi. She lives on her own. They didn't call her folks, or the uni's counsellors etc etc!!
My Sister said ironically they were told today before this happened that they all need to go on a "mental health course". My Sister turned to her manager and said definately if this is the way MH is dealt with in the uni.
My Sister has said to me she hopes this girl doesn't do anything silly.... but she is worried she might. One of her colleague's Mum is Bipolar and obviously I am Bipolar too. My Sister and her Colleague are both raging.
Tomorrow will be an interesting day at her office!!!
So are we dangerous? This question was asked on the Bipolar section apparently to narrow minded people in this world who have no knowledge of how it feels like to be so alone in this world yes we are.
We know we are all "normal" people who have thoughts and feelings the same as everyone else
