My therapist LL likes me tell her things too and she does read things when I bring them in. one of the reasons she told me was because she does not have the time to read things I write (I can write pages and pages on th ings) and if a person depends solely on writing things why bother paying a therapist. a big part of therapy is the client becoming more able to voice their thoughts and problems. writing is supposed to be an activity and outlet but not as a replacement for face to face working on problems. I could do that - writing and having people read what I write and tell me what they think for free. A therapist is being paid ot LISTEN and help not just read. She had a point so now I tell her things most of the time and supliment with writing when I want to share more details of what I tell her face to face.

Sometimes I get tongtied and all I can say is - its hard to discribe or explain. When that happens I try to break it down into smaller steps instead of trying to tell her the whole thing in one conversation or sentence. that helps.
