I would look at the logic of the set up from all directions, how it would/could work played out and its history?
I don't think anyone else has a set up like yours, where multiple old deities from different civilizations are together; I mean, how do Tyr and Mars get along, for example? I think the gods/goddesses you have chosen to interact with, have heard, are personal to you. When I was a teenager, I was partial to Athena.
I think when we live in our heads too much; are not interacting with other people, we run out of "stimulation" and it is like sensory deprivation sort of; our mind starts feeding on itself and using what it already knows and creating combinations that express that lack of stimulation. "Stargate" is a story that hangs together, interacting with monsters, gods/goddesses, aliens, etc. outside a story (instead of the actors who play them or the designers/author of the stories, etc.) seems to be a side-shoot to me, created from a current inability to interact with others of our own species.
