Caffeine is good for migraines, as it restricts the blood vessels that have become wide open with blood flow (that's what makes the migraine). Stress is also a precurser to migraine as well. If there is some way to reduce some of the stress you are under, it may help with the number of headaches and/or the intensity. Sometimes a cold compress or ice on the back of your neck and/or eyes can help. Deep breathing/relaxing techniques can help reduce the intensity as well. When I am out of my migraine prescription meds, I usually have an over the counter migraine relief med with me. Excedrin migraine works very well for me, providing I take it early on before the pain gets too bad.

I'm so sorry that you went through this. I'm sure it's frustrating not to mention painful.
