hi, towanda - i have a close relative with RA. it certainly complicates life. eating healthfully is one of the most important things you can do as it will keep your metabolism strong. i'm talking about lots of veggies and lean meats. increasing calcium intake also helps. glad to hear you are planning on going to the gym and dropping some weight as that will help you feel a lot better in the long run. i take fish oil myself but my research has shown that glucosamin / chondroitin does nothing, so don't waste your money on it. exercise that is low impact is the best; i suggest getting a bicycle. yes, the internet is full of negatives but exercising and losing weight is VERY positive and you will feel the difference! hang in there - living with chronic ailments is never easy but it pays both mentally and physically to fight the good fight! all the best to you.
