Yay! A vacation!

When my family made a long trip to Florida from Michigan when I was a kid, we had three kids with ADHD, an infant, and a kid with cerebral palsy in the car. I'm sure you can guess how much fun that was... LOTS of stops along the way! Make sure you have some audiobooks or lots of music to keep the drive from getting too boring.

If you can take the time, it's great to add a little sightseeing along the way, like making a stop at Mammoth Caves. One of the best meals I remember from those years of my life was the Southern cooking from a little diner in Georgia, and fried clams and the most amazing peanut butter-chocolate milkshakes from a roadside stand.

You will have fun! Just make sure you take care of yourself - putting extra effort into planning can really help.
