I don't get blotches, but if I'm trying to hold back something upsetting or difficult to talk about my face gets very very red - I can always feel my cheeks heating up! It's embarrassing, but I actually kind of like it because my T uses it as a cue to give me a little push (or not) without me having to say anything.
