The most supportive thing that has ever been said to me was from my Psychologist of 15 years. My Daughter was away at college and experiencing a moderate depression.
The idea that she could be bipolar, and experience the struggles I have in life devastated me. I said to my Psychologist that I had never really told anyone how hard my life had really been. My Psychologist said that neither she nor anyone else would ever know. For some reason I felt this great relief. My daughter was 20 at the time, she went on antidepressants for 2 years, never had a manic episode, got off them, is 30 now, and appears to be doing well.
Thanks for this!
