Maybe the problem is in that you wrote "unable to stick to a diet". Most people are unable to stick to a diet. You are not alone. I think you need to break down what you need to do into doable pieces and do only them, one by one, without trying to conquer the whole. You have a heart condition? Start eating healthy oils. They by the way may give you satiety, but that would be a collateral benefit. The point is, start doing it, without the goal of weight loss. After that, add (if you like it) an oatmeal in the morning, with a variety of fillings so as to keep it interesting (dried apples, dates, dried cranberries, flaxseeds, apple sauce - you name it). You will get soluble fiber which is heart healthy. Try it and report back to the thread after you have managed to do one heart-healthy thing for you. Weight is not the only concern for the heart health.
