I disagree Dr. Frank, I have visited many times when folks have been in an isolation ward for care on mental illness. The rules are often time set up by the hospital and removes outside influence for their patients. My mother was in a mental ward, and about two weeks before she could see others, hospital rules. Also as a hospice person, I had to wait quite awhile to see a patient in the mental ward area.
