Hi Ardmore, removing yourself from the stress is likely the time to see a T about these triggers or flash backs. Living a better life will put you in a place that you can truly heal with help. The dreams that are tormenting you are something you were/are not guilty of.
Their tragic acts of a person who should have been protecting you. Your young mind was not ready or able to relate, make sense of the things you saw. You have been betrayed by someone that should have been taking care of you. There is no fairness in this at all, but it is the way our minds deal with neglect, abuse, and very unfortunate circumstances. Trying to make sense of something not sensible. I do hope you will seek professional help...no one deserves a happier life than someone who has gone through your particular form of hell with a parent.
