I'm sorry that you're loosing your job. It sucks and it's always hard. Unfortunately it often happens in buyout situations - the company doing the aquisition is always looking for ways to save money. I've been through a bunch of mergers / Acquisitions and there are almost always layoffs.

Take some time to grieve the loss of your job, then dust off your resume, and get out there looking.
