Yup. Been there. I once wrote to a sports specialist about a similar problem when I was around that age. His reply? You are out of shape. In order to exercise, you must be in shape. Being in shape means fit enough to withstand the physical stress of exercise. My tennis playing skills were above average but my physical fitness was below average and the result was injuries. Also, part of it is aging. An aging body cannot be taken for granted and one cannot expect to go out and exercise like they once did with the same results. As you age, your chances of injury increase.

I have had bursitis problems in my left foot. It hurts! Depression causes inflammation in the body. Stress tightens the tendons and muscles and increases chances of injury. Warming up and stretching is more important as you age. Strong muscles should also be flexible muscles. Aches and pains get more frequent as one's body ages. Welcome to the club!! Has your MD diagnosed the cause of the bursitis in your hip? Do you take N-SAIDs to help heal the inflammation?
Thanks for this!
