I have a friend who is 20 and schizoaffective. She cannot hold down a job and is kicked out of every home she tries to live in. She earns money from the government, but she is currently living in a tent on the railroad tracks. I feel so bad for her and I want to help.

I don't know what's best for her, but I'm trying to find a place where she can stay permanently, and hopefully get treatment as well. Maybe shelters can help her, but she can't really live in a shelter. I don't think she can afford a group home on welfare checks.

I just sent an email to Social Advocates for Youth and hopefully they can help.

Where can she go? I don't want her to live on the streets but she can't live with me and she can't afford any special homes. =[
