I'm sorry to hear you had a bad day. I can understand not going back to the doctor if you don't feel comfortable - you need to feel comfortable with a person you need to put your trust in.
Take it one moment at a time - is there anything that you find relaxing that you can do? Read, take a bath, listen to music? I know for me sometimes the little things that take my mind of my day can make me feel so much better.
