Pretender had a couple of great tips for you. Hope that you've tried them.
I fight numbness from time to time. I hate that feeling! So, yeah, I can relate. The numbness comes up from my depression when times are getting worse for me. I do see a T bi-weekly, and have a psychiatrist who I see monthly. Those things help. Regular exercise is another big helper for me. My deep depressions always hit when my membership at the Y is up, and the weather stinks (so I can't exercise outside either). I have a couple of exercise dvd's, but that's not the same for me. My happiest times are when the weather is good and I can walk outside. The one thing that I can always connect with on some level is nature. Nature is very reassuring to me. It's very humbling, yet it reminds me that all of life isn't misery. Walking 6-8 miles through nature brings me a great sense of peacefulness. I remind myself of my walks during harder parts of the days/nights.
best wishes to you!
