My therapist and I have gotten a lot of mileage out of Monty Python - especially "the holy grail" and the "dead parrot" skit.
The bit about the swamp king building those castles that fall over, catch fire and sink into the swamp keeps recurring. It is worth noting that that fourth one stayed up.
On a more serious note, "brokeback mountain" and "The lovely bones" have earned emmys for moving things forward.
Sometimes pop culture is a good and safe way to talk about things, while not
exactly talking about myself.
