I took Paxil for over ten years, when I first started it, it caused hypomania. I recognize that in hindsight, at least for me any up mood is followed by a down mood and I believe it is possible this might be happening with you as well. I stayed on Paxil because it was so excellent for my anxiety and racing thoughts. IMO, Paxil does not help with depression, only with anxiety .
