Do you have a church pastor who can visit with you? Some pastors are trained for counseling or trained to be a good listener.
Why are you unable to seek counseling? Is it a financial reason? There are places that offer therapy on a sliding pay scale. There is probably some local resources. Perhaps your library may have a directory of social service organizations in your area. 211 is a resource in a lot of areas. National Alliance for the Mentally Ill has support groups. Group therapy is cheaper than individual therapy. Is that an option?
Are you unable to get out of your house? Perhaps you can find a place that might agree to a modification that might make it easier. I am not sure any places offer home visits. But, I sure would check before i concluded it wasn't an option. I have heard of telephone therapy/internet therapy. However, I suspect that it is harder to check the counselor's credentials in this situation. Also, not being face to face makes it harder to insure confidentiallity and to prevent misunderstanding between you and any therapist/doctor. Please forgive me for the list of questions. I just want to insure that you have explored all of your options. Otherwise, continue to post here and we will offer whatever support that we can. There are some good books out there that you might find in your library. There is some good books on relaxation techniques, mood gym which is a website is good for learning cognitive behavior/Rational Emotive therapy techniques for depression. I think you can find an old posting about it in psychotherapy I suspect. I think it was title free T. I don't know how to include website addresses from my book marks.
Some eating disorders involve eating so little food that the person ends up malnourished. If that is the case, then it may be tougher if not impossible to deal with without professional help. I hope you find the help you need.
