1. First I need some weapons...

To identify the error(s) in the disturbed thoughts I can use my version of the "Distortion List"

  1. All-or-nothing thinking
  2. Overgeneralization
  3. Negative filtering
  4. Disqualifying the positive
  5. Mind reading
  6. Fortune Telling
  7. Magnification
  8. Emotional reasoning
  9. Personalization
And here are some CBT techniques I can apply to treat the identified distortions:

  1. Trial Method (aka Evidence Test)
  2. Vertical Arrow Technique
  3. Survey Method
  4. Experimental Method
  5. Feared Fantasy Technique
  6. Revaluation (aka Pros and Cons)
  7. Double Standard Method

2. Okay, now that I have resources to work with I need a therapeutic process. The DATA method follows:
Determine the evidence for the disturbing belief.
Analyze the distortions in the evidence.
Treat the distortions.
Affirm a realistic alternative belief.
3. Finally I need some disturbing material to trigger my anxious thoughts. I will use quotes from feminist propaganda against stripping to help me identify them.
