I started to become a hermit as well when I lost my job. What helped me was to join at least one group activity and force myself to go. For example, I spent time volunteering to teach English then when that got me stressed I quit and joined a gym. Today, I force myself to a pilates group class 3x's a week. I would advise you find any activity that interests you and make a go of it. Try pottery, cooking, book club, yoga, volunteering at an animal shelter etc.
