Hi josiemaria90, welcome to Psych Central!
I wonder if your treatment team decided you'd need to get your drug and alcohol issues out of the way before they'd consider diagnosing you further or considering other treatment options. The way I understand it, Marsha Linehan developed DBT at least partly as a way of helping clients deal with "therapy-interfering behaviors" so that they could be present and available to participate in their regular therapy.
Many, many members have posted about DBT. Unfortunately our search engine can't handle 3-letter search terms but if you search on "dialectical" instead, you'll find quite a few threads about DBT.
We do have a
DBT Discussion and Support social group (with a
forum its own). It hasn't been very active lately but you might find it worthwhile taking a look anyway. I think you can already read there but you'll need to post a few more times before you can join
social groups and post there.

Edited to add: I found some good discussion of DBT in
this thread. There are several links to other sources, including this article in the Psych Central library:
An Overview of Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
