These days I "subscribe" to threads that interest me and concentrate on those.
But I also scan the "Last Post" column for familiar names. If a friend has posted on a thread it might be worth a look.
I seldom look beyond the third page of threads, because I've already seen (or ignored  ) the older threads.

This is a hard one! There are SO many threads started every day. Sometimes I think we start a thread before thinking about whether or not we really need to do it. I know I have done that and ended up deleting it. I used to post a new thread every other day. I try not to do that anymore.
I almost think that this forum has gotten so big that it needs to be divided up. Not sure how you could do that. I know that Social Groups can be formed. Hey! Why don't YOU start a group? That's a great idea! I am sure you would get a good number of people to join. I would join.
I would also like to be a part of a regular chat. Maybe someone will take the initiative to start one?
