Don't judge people too harshly. Those "kindly people" are the ones who CARE. They are concerned about you and just want to help. They're afraid something horrible may have happened, and they don't want to leave you alone. Wouldn't YOU do the same thing? What if YOU saw some poor soul sitting alone and crying their heart out --- would YOU just let them sit and cry? I sure wouldn't -- I'd try to see if there was something I could do to help them.
I sure hope our world never comes to the point where it's so 'cold' that no one cares anymore.  It's bad enough as it is -- when people hear the screams of someone being murdered, yet no one does a thing about it -- they don't want to get involved!  Good grief.
