Thanks so much for sharing this! I'm glad you have found PC! I have two thoughts about the crying in public thing. First, I agree that crying in public makes other people uncomfortable and that they often don't know what to do or say. Second, I think I get you when you say that they try to stop the crying being a problem for you. When I am crying, I don't want to be told to stop. I want to be told it is ok to cry, and to be encouraged to let it out. I think crying is an intimate thing, and doing it around strangers would be odd to me. Most often when I cry it is alone, though when I am able to let it happen around other people I trust I am grateful. I'm a guy also, which adds a whole new dimension to the crying thing...
Finally, I agree that crying is therapeutic! I learned as a child to repress my crying and those feelings. I see the ability to do it, cry, as a gift. It doesn't happen all the time, but when it does I feel grateful. For me, crying can be very healing.
